luxR2
BBa_K4942001 (luxR2)
Profile
- Name: luxR2
- Base Pairs: 672bp
- Origin: Aliivibrio logei, synthetic
- Properties: LuxR2 (LuxR-Family Transcriptional Regulator 2) is a protein that belongs to the LuxR family of transcriptional regulators.
Usage and Biology
LuxR2 is a protein that can perceive and bind AHL (Acyl Homoserine Lactone) molecules. AHL is a signal molecule that can form a complex with LuxR2. When LuxR2 binds to AHL, the complex activates or inhibits specific genes, thereby achieving control of target gene expression. For example, in photobiology, LuxR2 usually interacts with AHL molecules to regulate the bioluminescence behavior of bacteria[1]. In addition, LuxR2 may also be involved in the regulation of other physiological processes in bacteria[2].
